Fiction | New Zealand Fiction

Janet Frame wrote this story in 1969 for her niece Pamela. This year we reissue this excellent story for children in a beautiful illustrated flexibind gift edition, with ribbon marker. Mona Minim is a house ant about to make her first journey out of the nest. But her excitement at smelling new things, especially the sunlight, turns to terror when one false step plunges her into a quite unexpected adventure. Befriended by Barbara, a garden ant, Mona spends time in the outside world before returning home to her own nest a wiser, braver ant. A captivating story that will delight young and old alike. Features stunning colour illustrations by David Elliot — one of New Zealand's best-known and most talented children's illustrators.
