Showcases 150 items of the most interesting and beautiful taonga held by the Whanganui Regional Museum, with text explaining their significance and connections. An accompanying CD contains a catalogue listing of the complete collection of 5,000 items. The structure of the book reflects the framework of a Maori tauparapara or chant, which takes the reader on a journey from the source of the Whanganui River on the central plateau down to the sea.
