Following the death of Franco in 1975 Spain's long cultural isolation came to an end. The country has since opened itself up to foreign influences and particularly in architecture there has been a great revival with famous names such as Alejandro de la Sota, Oriol Bohigas and Rafael Moneo emerging. In the meantime a new generation of architects has grown up and is beginning to gain recognition.
